Every platform

Windows

Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit.

  • Run the installer and Musa CAD lands in the Start menu. Running a newer installer over an existing installation updates it where it is.
  • From v0.6.0 on, the Update window downloads, checks and installs new versions for you.

Linux

Any recent 64-bit distribution.

  1. flatpak install flathub org.musacad.MusaCAD
  2. flatpak run org.musacad.MusaCAD

New to Flatpak? Set up Flathub first ↗

  • Flathub is the easiest route: updates arrive with the rest of your apps.
  • Or take the AppImage — one file, nothing to install: make it executable (chmod +x) and run it.

macOS

Preview

Apple silicon, macOS 12 Monterey or later.

  • This is a preview. Musa CAD draws with OpenGL 4.5 and macOS stops at 4.1, so the drawing window can't open yet — the app tells you so when it starts. A Metal renderer is on the roadmap.
  • The command-line tools already work: open and check drawings, and plot them to PDF.

System requirements

Musa CAD draws on the GPU, so the one thing every machine needs is a graphics driver with OpenGL 4.5 — which covers most graphics hardware from the last ten years.

More ways to get Musa CAD

Check your download

Where a release publishes a .sha256 beside a file, compare it with the file you downloaded:

sha256sum MusaCAD-*-setup.exe

On Windows, Get-FileHash in PowerShell does the same. The Update window checks it for you.

Build it yourself

Musa CAD is clone-and-build: a C++23 compiler, CMake, Ninja, Qt 6 and the Vulkan headers.

cmake --preset release
cmake --build --preset release
